OBJECT DONATIONS

Thank you for considering a donation to the Mountain View Museum. We are truly honoured when community members choose to share items that help tell the story of our region’s history. Through the generosity of donations and bequests, our permanent collection continues to grow and serves as the foundation for our research, educational programs, and exhibitions.

To make sure the Museum’s collection accurately and meaningfully reflects the history of our area, we follow specific criteria when reviewing potential donations. We look for items that are relevant to our mission, strengthen or complement our existing collections, and can be properly cared for and preserved.

These guidelines help us ensure that everything we collect contributes to telling a rich and authentic story of our region for future generations. By thoughtfully selecting items, we can preserve the heritage of Mountain View County and Olds.

If you’re interested in donating, please contact our staff before bringing or sending items to the Museum. We kindly ask that you do not drop off or mail items without arranging it first, so we can ensure your potential gift is properly identified, documented, and cared for with the respect it deserves.
